Red River Cultural District & The SIMS Foundation Present: Safer Venues Fest

The mini-music and arts fest takes place on Saturday, September 7th at multiple music venues in the district in order to bring together the music community and local organizations working towards safety.

The event has multiple goals, including: ⌾ To introduce the SIMS Foundation Venue Training Program, which aims to help local music venues address issues including mental health issues, sexual misconduct, substance abuse, etc. ⌾ To introduce venues and the Austin music community to local organizations working towards safety. ⌾ Initiate discussions regarding how the community can work in conjunction with these non-profits towards a common goal of a healthier and safer music community. ⌾ As a fundraiser for the SIMS Foundation (participating venues will donate a portion of their sales).

📍 Participating venues: Cheer Up Charlie's, Barracuda, Empire Control Room & Garage, Mohawk, Scratchouse, Swan Dive 💥 Participating organizations include: RRCD, SIMS Foundation, Sexual Assault Response and Resource Team (SARRT), Front Steps, The Other Ones, Home Street Music, Rainbow Patrol ATX, with more to come.
